~Yet Another Delux Paint Feature`
While playing with Deluxe Help for Deluxe Paint, I noticed a peculiar side
effect that happened after running some of the tutorials; Normally when
drawing a box, the computer continually redraws the box to follow your
mouse. But after running some of the tutorials it started leaving a trail,
instead of erasing the old image before drawing the new image at the new
postion of your mouse. It turns out that this effect is normally produced
by holding down the control (CTRL) key while drawing, the Deluxe Help
program must be sending a CTRL-Key-pressed signal, but no CTRL-Key-released
signal.
Anyway the main reason this feature grabbed my attention is that I had seen
it on another machine, and thought at the time it's a pity the Amiga doesn't
have a program that can do that! Well it can!
To make things more interesting I drew some images in colour-cycle mode, the
figures were created as follows (holding the CTRL key down while drawing):
0 : Drawing a hollow circle, slowly dragging the mouse to produce bigger and
bigger circles about the same point. You can move in and out to fill in
any gaps.
1 : Drawing a hollow rectangle in a similar fashion to the circle above, but
enlarging the square going diagonally only. Constraining it to being a
square by holding down the shift key, may make drawing a bit easier.
2 : Drawing a straight line, rotating and stretching the line simultaneuosly.
3 : As for 1 but using a large diameter brush.
4 : As for 0 but moving the mouse rapidly leaving only concentric circles.
5 : Drawing solid rectangles
6 : Drawing solid circles
7 : As for 2, but without colour cycle mode on, but instead drawing the same
sort of thing multiple times, using a different colour each time.
8 : As for 1 but moving the mouse rapidly leaving only expanding rectangles.
9 : Drawing arcs, while moving the mouse rapidly in a circle.
A : Drawing a solid elipse and rotating it with colour cycle mode turned on.
